How To Go Viral On Pinterest Using Tailwind

How to Make Your Pinterest Pins Go Viral Using Tailwind

Pinterest is probably one of the only social media platforms left that truly wants to see its users succeed. Lately, it’s felt like Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter just want to keep their users from being successful no matter what they do. This is why I love Pinterest so much. If you do the work and take the time to get to know the platform, you’ll definitely reap the benefits.

In order to get the most out of Pinterest, using a scheduling and analytics program is smart. The only program I suggest, and the only program you’ll ever need is Tailwind. Not only is it approved by Pinterest but, it’s affordable and covers everything you’re looking for when wanting to do your best on Pinterest.

“Tailwind makes pinning feel like magic or some sort of marketing wizardry.” – Me

What is Tailwind?

Tailwind is a program that’s largely used for scheduling pins to go out at a specific time on your Pinterest. Of course, it’s much more than this now. It also allows you to attach other social media platforms in order to schedule posts for those as well.

Outside of that, Tailwind has analytics which allows you to keep track of how your Pinterest is performing. Further, there are aspects such as Tailwind Tribes that allow you to connect to other pinners within your niche in order to help support each other.

Schedule Your Pins

As mentioned, Tailwind allows you to schedule pins. This is useful since Pinterest does not usually respond well to “clump pinning.” This type of pinning involves going in and pinning a bunch of pins all at once. Your traffic will not be as good if pinning is executed this way.

Tailwind allows you to place as many time slots as you like throughout the day and all you have to do is click “schedule” on pins, including your own, and it will place the pin in the next available time slot. If you have a specific time you need it to go out, simply click and drag the pin to the correct time slot.

Tailwind makes it very simple when it comes to scheduling pins as well as scheduling your other social media platforms. Having your pins be spread out and pinned at various times in the day suits Pinterest’s algorithm much better.

Use Analytics

I also mentioned that Tailwind keeps track of analytics. Not just for Pinterest but for any social media platform you attach to it. However, specifically for Pinterest, Tailwind will monitor the pins that were pinned the most, where you are getting the most traffic from, how your traffic is comparing to the past, etc.

Tailwind offers so many detailed insights that it allows you to see what’s doing well and what isn’t doing well. For example, if you see that a pin is doing well, put some focus into pushing that pin more and you could easily make a popular pin go viral. Some pins will do better than others and Tailwind will make some suggestions to help along the way.

Use Tribes

Tailwind has a great section called “Tribes.” This is where you join a group of people within a specific niche of pins and everyone within the group follows a basic set of rules. The entire point of a tribe is to help other people within your niche and they return the favor. Usually, the parameters of a tribe are, “You post a pin to the tribe, you pin one or two pins that someone else posted.”

It’s very simply and tribes can be a great way to not only find, connect, and interact with like-minded people but, to also boost your pins to Pinterest profiles that cater to the type of audience that will like your stuff.

For example, say you join a tribe and it has a thousand people in it. Say you have around 5k followers but, another person in the group has 40k followers and decides to share your pin. Both of you are in that tribe because you have the same type of focus with your Pinterest and content which means you have the potential to reach 35k+ people who are interested in that type of content.

This means your content is getting in front of the eyes of people who are actually interested in seeing it! It’s quite fascinating to think about, especially with all the possibilities.

Conclusion

Overall, it’s important to point out that you’re never going to go viral, even with Tailwind if you don’t have the consistency and content to do so. Sure, your traffic will boost, however, you’ll never reach your highest potential if the other aspects involved aren’t good.

For example, if your pin photos and sizes aren’t up to par, many people will ignore them and so will the Pinterest algorithm. Make pretty, cohesive pins that are the recommended size in order to both be pleasing to the pinner’s eye and noticeable to Pinterest’s algorithm.

Further, if the content of the pin is skewed or odd, the audience size for it may be really small. Have content that people are going to want to actually pin. If your content is popular or desirable, there’s nothing Tailwind will be able to do to make it viral. Although it may result in reaching more people, that doesn’t mean it will be able to make it go viral.

Make your Pins work for you

On top of all of this, it’s vital that your pin descriptions are correct, your board descriptions are correct, board names are searchable, etc. Be sure to have your Pinterest optimized for the current algorithm, this will allow Tailwind to work at its best. If your Pinterest isn’t optimized correctly, Tailwind will only be able to do so much to help you traffic wise. You’ll definitely see a difference but, not a big one.
